I designed a computer vision-based toothbrush and feature tracker, including a trackable toothbrush prototype, while working at the Intelligent Assistive Technology and Systems Lab (IATSL) under the supervision of Dr. Alex Mihailidis. Our goal was to aid in toothbrushing tasks for elderly people and people with demetia using unobtrusive, webcam-based methods. In future, the system will infer a person's actions, providing guiding prompts if needed. This project is part of COACH, one of the first clinically tested supportive environments to use artificial intelligence techniques.

Infrared Difference Tracking: I tried comparing difference images

Bi-Color Tracking: Then I switched to a color approach

Face and Feature Tracking: Then I tracked face, eyes and mouth
